Tammara talks about how school was an escape for her. Her 5th grade teacher, Ms. Burgess influenced her love for poetry. She was involved in the Double Dutch team and the kids on her block taught her to ride a bike. Tammara discusses getting into rapping at an early age. One of the DJs, Paul gave her the first big break at the park. Paul had brought a girl from the Bronx to rap in 1975 and then she was hooked. She was an instant favorite representing Queens. She described dropping some bars at eleven. She described MCing as an escape from her home life. She also mentions being a bigger crowd favorite than LL Cool J.
