Queens Borough Hall - Topographical Records consists of documents created in the Queens Borough Hall Topographical Department during the late 1940s to early 1960s. Topography is defined as the science or practice of describing a particular place, city, town, manor, parish or tract of land. The collection consists of reports made by the Topographical Bureau about developments in different areas of Queens. The Topographical Bureau created these reports by taking surveys, examining zoning areas, and informing the Queens Borough President on the status of new roads and structures.
