Power for the People Records (1 box, 2006) highlight the efforts of Western Queens residents to get compensation and an explanation to the power outage that affected the region in July of 2006. For more than a week residents in the communities of Astoria, Long Island City, Sunnyside, and Woodside went without power during a massive heat wave in the region. The organization was formed after a petition with thousands of names came together to voice their concerns for the residents and a written statement on plans of action if future power problems occur.
