The P.E.O. Sisterhood Records (2 boxes, 1 cubic foot, 1927-1954) The P.E.O. Sisterhood, Philanthropic Educational Organization, was founded on January 21, 1869 in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. Their role is to help in the advancement of women through education. The acquisition of Cottey College in 1927 helped towards their goal of putting confident educated women into the workforce.
