The Emil R. Lucev, Sr. Papers contains the material Emil R. Lucev, Sr. created and used to document the Rockaway peninsula and its events, structures, neighborhoods, organizations and people. He documented all of the peninsula's neighborhoods including Far Rockaway, Arverne, Edgemere, Belle Harbor, Neponsit, Breezy Point, Rockaway Park, Rockaway Beach, Rockaway Point, Hammels and Seaside. His papers provide rich documentation of how the Rockaways developed from the peninsula’s Native American inhabitants to its current urban inhabitants. With much of his research he produced articles for local newspapers.
